Kate Barker lands a Qantas Foundation Award

Painting Alumna Kate Barker has been awarded the ACT’s winner in the  QANTAS Foundation Encouragement of Contemporary Art Awards. The award recognises one emerging artist from every state and encourages them to create new work.

Announced on November 6 by MCA Director, Elizabeth Ann McGregor at Artspace in Sydney, the winners are selected from artists nominated by CAOs contemporary art spaces (Contemporary Art Organisations Australia).

Each winner receives $4,000 travel and $4,000 cash plus $4,000 for a community project.
